The upgrade of all customer Edge Gateways has been completed. If you notice any issues with Internet connectivity for hosted vGRID virtual servers please contact our service desk. We have completed testing and believe all services should be operating normally.

With the successful upgrade to vCloud Director 9.0 we are now able to use the full VMware NSX Edge Gateway product set. We will shortly be deploying an upgrade to our NSX Management servers and need to bring all customer Edge Gateways up to a current version of NSX. The deployment process which upgrades the Edge Gateways will cause a brief 30 second drop in network traffic to vGRID customer networks.

We will be deploying these upgrades on a per customer basis so you can expect a short drop in network traffic of around 30 seconds at some point within the maintenance window. This will only impact Internet access for virtual servers hosted in the vGRID environment in Auckland and Hamilton.

It has been noted that after the upgrade it may not be possible to display the shared key for VPN configurations within vCloud Director. If you need to know the shared key for any customer VPNs using an Edge Gateway please document those before the evening of the 17th of May. Alternatively the VPN configuration can be recreated to create a known shared key, though this process is disruptive. While the shared key may not be visible the VPN tunnels operate as expected.
