We are upgrading the core switches at our Auckland Data Centre.

This upgrade is to maintain our on-going commitment to provide up-to-date technology, security and resolve known issues with the current level of firmware.

While this upgrade is a low impacting event, there will be brief loss of internet connectivity (about 30 seconds) when the core switch reboots.
This occurs when the primary firewall node is connected to the core switch that is rebooted, as this causes the firewall cluster to fail-over to the secondary node. Internet connectivity is dropped while the secondary node re-establishes the BGP routes with our upstream provider.
This is an expected behaviour and is as part of the resilient design.

We are expecting that this upgrade will take an hour.
